*I dont plan on making the synopsis so just bear with the straight forward story*
Overview: the 5th installment of what I call “Ai no series”, basically a series of angst with a happy ending #kicked. The casts are perfect, the plot is as well (I dunno about others who complaint though but to me it is) and the conclusion is like “take me to you via the flame road” kinda like situation so its very very long but worth it. I love the 2nd one the most though.
This is a world where humans adapted to insect’s gene and classified into high class and low class. In short, males have child bearing attributes (or rather their body changes)
It began with a high school opening ceremony, Yamato enters the school compound with his uniform’s arm shuffled up. He is a high class murasaki clan and achieved name in tennis tournament. Yamato accidentally hurt his opponent, but he is still crown as the winner. Some people look at him with a disgust look, but there is one, a camouflage high class boy, namely Ayumu who adores him despite how he win his game. Ayumu is standing right behind him, but due to his attributes, he is almost invisible, if it weren’t for his parka. Ayumu knows that Yamato is a kind person, and despite the senior’s rude remarks on his uniform, Ayumu’s feelings never changes. After Yamato’s turn for signing up finished, its his turn but his senior did not realize how not fashionable is ayumu’s parka and let him go without a remark. Ayumu is surprised, and is about to say something when Suou and Chigusa, his 2 best friends, a twin, called him from behind.
After settling on his dorm room, Ayumu’s dorm room is suddenly opened, and Yamato barged in but he still could not see Ayumu. He just literally passed by and behind him, is his cousin, Hisafumi Shiba. They are arguing, why Yamato doesnt want to be his room mate and several second year students are peeking on them saying that murasaki clan is a netorare type of family (please dont get me started on how shit is ntr and I absolutely hates it). The fight is about to escalate to another level when Ayumu interrupts both of them and suddenly their reaction be like “how long have u been watching us?” look. Before he’s able to say anything, shiba asked him if he can trade room mates and yamato give that “no” look. After settling, shiba calmed down, and agreed not to push Yamato on his decision to be in 1 room with ayumu.
Next day, Ayumu told Suou and Chigusa about what happen at his place and Suou was shocked that why Ayumu allows Yamato to be his room mate. Ayumu still defends yamato, not knowingly what netorare means. Coming back to his room after class, his door is suddenly opened by Yamato, who is busy, kissing with kibe (I’m going to skip what lines they are saying for the sake of sanity). To Ayumu’s surprise, he could not think straight, and rushed outside and bump into Shiba. Shiba just smiled seeing him, and told him that he might accidentally saw Yamato in the act because Kibe and him just have a session. Ayumu’s mentality is too weak to accept this nonsense and fainted on spot.
The next thing that Ayumu see once he regain consciousness is Suou and Chigusa lecturing Yamato. Yamato apologized for the unintended scene and left. Moving on to next day, Ayumu is having lunch as usual with his 2 friends when Yamato suddenly sit beside him. Suou demanded him to find other place, but Yamato would not budge. The three of them are puzzled why he is acting that way until they saw Shiba and Kibe heading to Yamato’s way; those two are just finishing their session, and kibe’s pheromone is to attract another prey, smelling so strong Yamato almost surrendered to it when he tried to resist it, by holding Ayumu’s hand. All of sudden, in that moment, every senses of Yamato, is able to resist the pheromones oozing out from Kibe. While he is holding Ayumu’s hand, he told kibe and shiba he is able to resist their thing now. Shiba & Kibe retreat, and Yamato is rejoicing his victory. Ayumu is also like in a dream when the guy he has a long crush on finally notice him….. and that is the starting of another suffering for these two. *takes out tissue*
Ayumu’s presence, is kinda like a savior to Yamato so he hangs out a lot with him and the twins; making Shiba a little bit agitated. One day, Shiba carried out his plan, hoping it would bring Yamato back to him but this plan not only bring Yamato & Ayumu closer, it also opened a new perspective on their newly forged relationship. Shiba, meets Ayumu in his room and suddenly kissed him. By doing this, he is sending an activator pheromone within Ayumu and wait for Yamato’s appearance. When Yamato arrives, he can smell Shiba’s pheromone all over Ayumu and was about to follow after to kick his ass for touching Ayumu but… the activator activates something that Ayumu has been hiding for quite long. Ayumu is a nanayasu clan, camouflage type but his mother, elopes with an anismorph clan, a clan that has “omega” like pheromones once they started having intercourse. Due to this gene, Ayumu was forbid to enter his home, and his mother run away but his grandmother will still pay for his school expenses and others. He is also forbade from having intercourse before a proper marriage that will be arranged for him. Ayumu’s body is supposed to be a female manisfestation thus not having the proper male attributes but his chromosome is of a male due to anismorph interference. The anismorph pheromone activates, and Yamato could not resist, eventually taking Ayumu’s first time. The next thing when Ayumu wakes up, he suddenly remembers his grandmother’s, and told Yamato the whole thing. After that, things seems to be back to normal, or Ayumu thought. He wonders why his grandmother forbade him from having intercourse till he remembers his own mother’s words. An anismorph, once tasting the first intercourse will start having “heat” for three days and will do have it every month. His memory failed to remind him, and he suddenly feel the heat while in class. He asked to go to the infirmary, and suddenly all his classmates, induced by his pheromones, volunteered to take him there. Ayumu, as surprised with their sudden attention on him, hastily said he will go alone, and run as fast as he can along the hallway but the people along the way caught his smell and tried to capture him. Yamato found him, and bring Ayumu to their room. Ayumu explained that he forgotten that he will start having heat for 3 days so Yamato volunteered to be his “temporary pair” until Ayumu find a mate that he wants. Ayumu, also agreed due to his condition, but deep inside, he wanted Yamato to hold him, loving him but to Yamato, he is just someone who helps to resist the NTR attacks.
As their “new” level of relationship progress, Ayumu is starting to feel insecure, and that Yamato is just using him as a safe place. His insecurity further worsen when Kibe told him that Yamato doesnt want to attend his summer tennis training class. He said he has something to do with Ayumu. He knows… that only Yamato knows of his heat, and that he is trying to be considerate of his condition. Ayumu knows this could not go on, so he told Kibe that he will try to convince Yamato to go. With that, Ayumu confront Yamato, have a fight, literally telling Yamato that he already found a guy he loves so he doesnt need to take care of him anymore. Yamato be like “ok fine, I just have to go right?!” and Ayumu tried to suppress his heat alone, going to a hospital, when Nagumo sensei found him almost unconscious. (Trivia: Nagumo is like everywhere, a chara from the 1st series, and also the first couple of this series)
When Ayumu woke up, he is greeted by Nagumo sensei, who told him that he already contacted his family, and that he is given a suppressant. Upon hearing that, Ayumu asked if there is a suppressant for his heat. Nagumo said there is, but its experimental stage and he doesnt know the side effects yet but when his body was examined, he told Ayumu that the suppressant reacts to his will, and that Ayumu’s wish is to become a female, at some point. Ayumu by then, was briefed that if he continue to take the suppressant, his body will transition into a female wholly. After admitted out from the hospital, he met Suou and Chigusa, whom he had ignored all this while. He told them everything what had happened, and they forgive him. Suou advise him to tell the truth of his feelings to Yamato or they will be in misunderstanding state forever. Ayumu agreed and decided to meet him during his training. At first, Yamato was reluctant to meet him after their fight but Ayumu smoothed their conversation, mentioning that he “already break up with the guy he choose” (which in fact that the dude is actually Yamato). Yamato got angry why that dude left Ayumu, and said he’s stupid (that’s you, in case). This reconciliation bring them back closer, yet Ayumu hasnt tell his feelings. Then summer came and Yamato has to attend another tennis competition abroad. Ayumu is staying with the twins and everything seems to be going slowly… when Kibe and Shiba came to meet Ayumu at the twin’s residence and asked him to encourage Yamato on his recently failing achievements. Kibe gave him his phone number, and Ayumu texted him. Suou saw it, and added a few lines *lewd lines*.
Now, its almost to climax scenes. Yamato’s and Ayumu’s relationship is getting better, his tennis results are also getting better, Ayumu’s condition suddenly got serious. He is about to pack his things after the break, and tried to find his diary which is missing a page. Suou called him to hurry up, and to find it some other day when ayumu’s hearing and sighting suddenly shut and he collapsed. He woke up in a hospital, and Nagumo sensei is there with his sister. Nagumo said his transition is getting faster due to the suppressant and his body is already forming female organs. Suou and Yamato barged in, and they overheard of the doc’s comment. Ayumu told his sister that he decide for his life, and will accept his current body with the person he loved. Yamato heard this and asked Ayumu who is the person he love. Ayumu finally confess his feelings and Yamato also realized all this while, he also loved Ayumu, and that he is such a dork when it comes to first love. It end with they having icha icha time and next day, Ayumu woke up finding Yamato reading his diary (tips from Chigusa) and he said “let’s do what you write in this diary and end it with happily ever after with me”
The bonus drama is a continuation when Ayumu is visiting Yamato in the US, and that time Yamato received a call from his elder brother to introduced his boyfriend to the family. He tried to search for Ayumu at the airport, only to find him being surrounded by other dudes. He chased them away, and kinda smell ayumu’s pheromones. He said his heat is ON and that he isnt taking suppressant so they can get to enjoy intense love time. They do a bit in the airport’s toilet and….. well it ends there… meditashi meditashi XD
Overall: I totally like the story T_T like I dont need to cry throughout the entire 2 hours listening to this and such a very cute ending xD
